Growing grid of impressive machinery for the Barcelona meeting of the 2022 GT1 Sports Club
  • Second meeting of the 2022 season is part of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS finale
  • Over a dozen of spectacular cars present, from Pagani, Lamborghini, McLaren and Porsche
  • Awe-inspiring exposition in the GT1 Village, in the heart of the paddock

On October 1st-3rd the Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona will host the second meeting of the 2022 GT1 Sports Club season. After a successful opening event at the Circuit Paul Ricard in June, the grid for the driver programme for track designed hyper and super track cars is ever growing. Next to an impressive exposition in the heart of the Spanish paddock, the GT1 programme will also include plenty of track action, right before the final and decisive round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS.

The GT1 Sports Club enjoys an ever-increasing interest from major car manufacturers. In Barcelona some of the most magnificent machinery will be present, both on and off track. During the Saturday and Sunday of the final meeting of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS there will be an exposition of those thunderous machines in the GT1 Village, situated in the heart of the Circuit de Catalunya paddock. Sunday and Monday then sees those cars in action on track. On Sunday, this will be only minutes before the start of three-hour finale of the most important GT championship on the motorsports planet. Car manufacturers will also have the opportunity to host driving programmes and offer their clients the use of private lounges throughout the whole of the weekend.

Just like at Circuit Paul Ricard, both Pagani Automobili and Lamborghini Squadra Corse are present with some splendid cars. The former brings no fewer than seven of their ‘R-models’, both Huayra and Zonda, while the sporting division of the Sant’Agata Bolognese manufacturer will enter four Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 in Barcelona. But that is not all! As the interest for the GT1 Sports Club is steadily growing, there will be several McLaren cars in Barcelona as well, along with some Porsches. And there are some other prestigious manufacturers getting ready to join the GT1 Sports Club grid in the near future as well.

The enjoyment of some of the best engineered cars in existence and sharing driving impressions in a friendly atmosphere are the most important goals of the GT1 Sports Club. Throughout the driving sessions, there will be a limited number of cars on the circuit, and no competitive element. Thus, GT1 Sports Club offers a unique opportunity for owners and manufactures of hyper and super track cars and enthusiasts to share their passion and to fully experience some incredible machines. This will also be the case during the 2022 GT1 Sports Club season finale, scheduled on December 13th-14th on the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.
